Knowledge Representation, Logic, and Advanced Programming (KLAP) Laboratory Director: Enrico Pontelli and Son Cao Tran

The KLAP Laboratory, formerly known as the Laboratory for Logic, Databases, and Advanced Programming, has been established in 1994 to sustain advanced research, development, and education in the areas of logic programming, knowledge representation, and high-performance computing.

The laboratory maintains its own network of Linux, Windows, and MacOS computing platforms and offers access to two shared memory high-performance computing platforms and a 40-core Beowulf cluster, based on Infiniband.

The laboratory has taken charge of developing and evolving educational curricula in the areas of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. The laboratory supports inter-disciplinary research programs, with special focus on bioinformatics and assistive technologies.
